Digger placing torches?

Would it be possible to mod the diggers to place torches automatically every X spot? Like every 5th spot or so
It's way out of my league

I'm pretty sure this isn't possible without the developers making a change.

You can trigger things to be 'dropped' when things are mined; but there's no obvious way of triggering a "placement" of things when a dwarf mines things. :(
