Mod Idea: Bug Repellent
Infestations are a very annoying thing to deal with, and the only option seems to be complete removal of the bugs during world generation or a mod that removes the event entirely. This works, but feels a bit limiting.
There are in-game methods like freezing and bait rooms, but require more space, planning, and can require a lot of power that could be lost during solar flares and EMIs.
A cool mod I would like to see someone with better skills than I make is a building that can be placed inside rooms with overhead mountains that decrease or remove the chance for an infestation to spawn there.
By sacrificing beauty and maybe even producing an odor like bodies that negatively impact colonists, the area around the repellent could be safe from infestations occurring.
Refilling could be inspired by real bug repellents that use plant oils and synthetic chemicals. Plant matter either in-game or added onto the mod, or a synthetic ingredient like Neutroamine.
