How do people use Dead Man's Switch?
I've seen people saying that DMS makes a great endgame mod, or even that it's fun at all, but I tried my best and I just don't see the appeal.

In terms of visuals, it's absolutely stunning, some of the best that the modding community has to offer. In terms of gameplay, I'm just confused.

It adds more mechanitor stuff, but it surely clashes with the thematic consistency of mechanitors, doesn't it? All this new stuff that has its own creation method, its own rechargers that don't make wastepacks, and it seems like it's intended to be used alongside mechanitor stuff, but it just doesn't make thematic sense alongside it.

Aside from thematic connectivity, what's with all the bloat? New workbenches that serve only to do something that another already does. New materials like tungsteel that fail to integrate with other content and serves only to be another material again. TONS of research just for the secluded DMS buildables.

How does this improve the game, exactly? Surely there's a better way for you to have more mechanoids and craftable mechlinks, right?

What's it all about?

So yall don't know?
Played the mod. It's pretty cool, the The mechs can use different weapons so they are flexible. it's kinda a royalty type expansion. but slightly better since you don't need to totally focus your whole play-though on it to get the benefits.

it's definitely not meant to be used in conjunction with vanilla mechs you should chose one or the other to focus on for a playthough. or switch to one to the other.

think of it like a side-grade. the deadmans switch robots are more expensive but give more bang for their buck. the Deadman's switch Bionics have a double edged sword if you don't have enough meds to support yourself, the stronger guns need bionics to be used well. overall the mod is more powerful but more expensive, which is why many see it as a good endgame mod.

as it why and How people use Dead Man's Switch, idk but I just find it neat. the mod looks cool and the mechs are fun to use and fight with and against .

I played it without Royalty installed, because I figured if it was important, it would be a requirement. Was I wrong?

it has a A royalty Title system based on military organization, which if you go down and focus on it can give pretty huge permits, like free extra bandwidth. if it didn't appear at all then it may require royalty to activate, no idea.

It does require royalty, that's certain. I just figured it'd be fun without, and I feel like my issues wouldn't be solved by bandwidth permits.
