Not sure if this is feasible or how it would play but it might be interesting to have a bot only beaver faction. It may require the ability to get to metal earlier in the game but also maybe trees would be less important.

Another feature might be to reverse the bot development to get back to living beavers. The machines would have to create life. Breeding pods would make a lot of sense here.
