I've had an unusual effect called VooDoo that was submitted since 2016 and has not been added to this day.
One thing i find odd even under some circumstances of having a reason of them not adding it into the game is why is it that so many incredibly bland effects had been added into the game, even some the same size as mine, maybe even larger, was added and yet mine was not added?

Who the heck is in charge of choosing the unusual effects submissions in workshop?

I've had info that they do not care however simple it is as long as it works with the game.

But to see effects so incredibly tiny and bland get added into the game was really weird to me.

Because my voodoo effect would have even matched with the recent Witch Doctor spy hat that was added awhile back too, i find it weird that the TF Team does not give a single chance to older contributors anymore, despite having submitted a valid submission, i made mine in the oldest Valve Particle Editor that was built into the TF2 client with the help of another contributor that had their effects accepted into the game, he helped me get a basic understanding of the VPE, he originally made his one in the old valve particle editor built into TF2 too.

Which is now even more outdated and harder to access today.

But nevertheless it was already a valid submission that should have already been accepted, yet, to this very day i had not gotten one submission even among the different variations of colors i made for the effect accepted into the game.

I just feel really bummed out because the VooDoo was my proudest one that felt like it fit well.

I felt so bad when i saw some sparkling dots effects get accepted into the game.

While mine has been sitting in the workshop since 2016.

That is all, i just wanted to rant, hahaha.

They frequently add older submissions, you’re incredibly entitled to think that you’re special and deserve special treatment and that just having your unusual be old means it should automatically get added

Just because something’s old doesn’t mean it’s valves responsibility to add it, even if it’s good, unless you make something so beautiful it brings people to tears every time they see it you really aren’t able to speak about your submissions like this without looking conceited

There have been a lot of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ unusuals, but if valve started only adding the literal highest quality unusuals from all time periods, without bias, then this would not get added until the workshop actually ran out of good unusuals, and there are still many unusual makers today so I doubt that’s happening

PNG with a weird zoom effect, i did that in the valve particle editor, there is no PNG involved, how most of the effects were made in the old Valve Particle Editor back then was combining existing effects to create a brand new one many of the older accepted effects was created in this same way, you had to like mess around with the different number variations and what not, there are a ton of abstract and fast effects that were added in the game, same goes with effects that were larger than mine too, i had another that was called Milky Way and the one mistake i did with that was made it a little too too large, but yet, there was again, another accepted effect larger than my Milky Way effect that i made with a mistake, so my apologies if i feel a little weirded out by how many effects were chosen that were larger than mine, it just seems rather odd that they would accept effects into the game that clearly in community feedback often would complain to be too large or fast.
I would often agree that making an effect the size of a bulleye would definitely not get added and then they accept something exactly just like this, so i am just lost overall on what exactly is the point of caring about how fast or large the effect is if in the end, they still add something with those exact issues that most folks complain about on many unusual submissions.

You’re completely missing the point of my comments, being based on vtfs or Targas or whatever isn’t gonna make your unusual better, ur just using a technicality to avoid what I’m actually saying, and again, just because worse unusuals were added doesn’t mean your entitled to having your ♥♥♥♥ added, there are dozens of better effects on the workshop

Yes and you are purposely ignoring the fact of that matter alone, it does not make any sense to push this idea that this must be this way and that must be this way then go against everything that had been said in regards to what seemingly is acceptable for an unusual.

How is it that i am entitled for expecting that the effect which very clearly works in favor of wants, should be just as much acceptable as a submission, seems rather harsh to just push me down like this all because you think there are other better effects on the workshop when it is very clearly just as saturated in that category of better effects, much less the old ones too, as i had already said, my VooDoo effect very clearly worked with the Witch Doctor hat that was added into the game awhile back and you cannot just deny that you see it, especially when the selection of unusual effects they added in that update barely even go along with the hats that came with it.

Nothing of this is an "EGO" thing.

I am simply questioning the very idea that they have accepted unusual effects that just do not pair at all with the hats added in the game recently, which in my case, i am simply pointing out that they could have at least added effects that pair well with the hats added in the game.
I just want to see more effects added that can be paired well with specific hats that will be added into the game, rather than them just go on a whim, even if it is not mine, at least others could also have a better chance, i've been waiting for years hoping mine get accepted given how i made that effect to match very specific hats in the game, so even if i do not get it accepted, i just want to see a proper change in direction so that the TF Team chooses the effects according to what matches well too.

Rather than just pick one at random which honestly i would not be surprised if that is how it works currently and that even with the information i had about how even with the amount of votes you had, your chances are very slim because they still pick between and the issue there is that they pick very blindly, rather than make it more worth the acceptance for a submission.

I feel like TF Team could open up more possibilities so that more contributors can be accepted.

Even with the addition of integrating community made updates as the new normal.

Would only be fair for everyone no?
In the end, even the TF Team get benefits from this too not just us contributors given the scale of business with updates, so having to establish a more modernized and efficient workshop system in place for Team Fortress 2 could really make a difference for all parties, allowing more content to be pushed in an infinite scale if you will, Team Fortress 2 eventually could be so much more.

So why is the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ topic of the thread your unusual and complaining that you haven’t had it added, only to say “bruh you’re missing the point it’s not about my unusual specifically!”

I do think valve should get much better with their picks of cosmetics, warpaints, maps, and unusuals (on top of adding less maps and unusuals) but this just comes off as a post whining about your unusual not being added, it wasn’t really about that, it feels like you just realized how stupid the OP was so you tried to twist your own words to change the subject

Dude, that's the topic of your post, not "Valve picks bad unusuals." From the start you made it about you. Also saying I have bad reading comprehension when you have the most nonsensical grammar I've seen in a while is really obnoxious. It's pretty clear you're the type of person who thinks that they're perfect and any of their shortcomings is a problem of the world and not you, even though you might not realize it consciously. I'm not gonna bother arguing with you.
