This was more of a general question for forum posters, I was asking what people were planning to do with Steam Workshop for this game and why they were doing it.

Hi Tag365, i would expect the Steam Workshop to go a very similar route to the Workshop for GalCiv 3. Meaning in the end there will be massiv extra Content for your Games. You can expect handcrafted Factions and their Ships from famous Sci Fi Movies and Games like for example the Borg, Klingons, the Empire from Star Wars, Warhammer 40k Factions like the Orks, Races from Mass Effect etc. There is a massive Community behind the GalCiv franchise and many of them are currently converting their creations to the GalCiv IV Workshop. In Case you do not want to add Sci Fi Classics to your game, thats also not a problem. There where also massive collections of single Ships with no relation to specific Races. So you could use these Ships to create your own distinctive Ships Sets and Factions to go with them.

I also believe that the main reason to contribute to the workshop is part flexing your skills in shipbuilding and storywriting, adding more factions to a more populated galaxy and of Course to increase the replayability with new Content.

I for myself can wholeheartly recommend you this game if you like long endless game sessions, have a good computer (the game eats RAM like no end) and have a little creative Touch.
