I want to use the Map Editor to set up a Workshop mod like the Mapsclusive maps (https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/profiles/76561199039641189/myworkshopfiles/), making a map consisting only the Mediterranean region (Hispania and Italia would be the only full empires on the map), mostly because I like that area (I play Sardinia a lot). This would just be me removing everything outside the region with impassable terrain and deleting their titles.

My issue is that I am basically helpless when it comes to modding without the Workshop, and I'd like to know if using the map editor launch option would allow me to edit the vanilla map without any wacky side quests (ie having to load the map in using GIMP or something), so that I can just pop open the map editor, make everything I want impassable, and be happy.

I'd also like to make it a Workshop mod, but I primarily want a simple step-by-step tutorial on how to edit the vanilla map without any outside sources and how to upload it to the Workshop with minimal fuss, preferably with pictures of what to click/do, especially preferably with a video showing me what to click. Doesn't need any audio or someone telling me how, I can follow a visual
