Galactic War-New ships/ Game mode
before i get started i just want to state that i have no experience modding and hopefully somebody else can make this happen.

the new ships i will be talking about will kinda fit in with the game mode and i believe this mod/mods will add tons of depth to the game.

to start of each faction will have a brand new super capital that will hopefully be atleast 2-3 times larger then the arawn (i will discuse a problem with this and hopefully a solution). each ship with have there own characteristics depending on the factions economy (Albion will have a more stronger and powerfull ship compaired to devries but since devries ships are smaller they can be produced faster).

the ships are to huge that with common sence they wouldnt move that fast (Not that fast at moving but if do-ible make the turn rate a bit slower then the arawn so they can atleast travel from zone to zone) so once they move to a zone they should have a super long ranged weapon that can attack any station within a respectible range (unless the station is way way out of the zone the super capital should be able to attack it). each capital ship should have there own type of new super weapon that sets them apart from each other. these ships (If alone) should be strong enough to atlease take down one or two arawns.

one problem with the ships being around 2 to 3 times larger (in length and WIDTH) then the arawn is that they cannot be built in XL shipyard. one way i see around this that hopefully can be done is a construction ship can be deployed and build multiple amounts of the ship if it has enough materials until it is destroyed (Please tell me quickly if this can be done or not) another problem i see is these ships is going through gates so is it possible to have these ships jump from galaxy to galaxy like jumping from sector to sector?

A few quick designs i would love to see for ships is
albion- some sort of futuristic U shaped ship with maybe a laser or something shooting through it?

Devries- something that can resemble the first or second varient of a Cylon base star. one problem with the first varient (go to the website i paste below to see first and second varient) is that there is no spot to put engines so i have no idea if you can make it so there is none? if there isnt the second varient is a Y shaped ship and engines would look more reasonable on it. a super weapon i would love to see on it is lots of long range missile or torpedo launchers like the cylon base star missiles (cant you tell i like battlestar galactica a bit?)

anybody who creates this mod all i ask is to atlease attempt the ship for devries and if is not possible i do understand (but please try)

one thing that isnt really part of the mod i am asking for but a idea i have is while docked at one of the super capital ships there should be a option to go into a room that when you enter a hole map of the zone shows up (Full screen) and you can select ship/s to move/ Attack/ Defend all while not leaving the radar/ zone map screen. Example- (select ship(left click on ship), right click on open space or ship/station and the options to move / attack should show up and select one of the options)

a game mode that could add more depth to the game is a war between factions that can create many missions and change the economy to.

each faction would create some type of war station in the heart of the faction and when at war with another faction would produce the super capital/ regular ships to defend the faction/ attempt to destroy the enemy war station/ or destroy high value stations (such as construction shops) to hamper the enemys production for a short while. Depending on the "General's" stars he may use diffrent tactics (level 1- basics Attack,defend level 5- diversions (make a sound in the west and attack in the east) and the ability to realize diversions instead of sending all forces to the "west"

The players actions can seriously effect a factions success. for example evan though Albion has a stable economy unlike devries i can support Devries by selling the needed reasources for war development and that can help produce more ships than albion.

A few missions that can come out of this that i can see happening is at the war stations missions can be offered like "Kill ____ factions vice president" that can either rise tensions or start a galactic war or "Bring X amount of _____ to help production methods (Increase production by 25 % for X amount of time)

Well. it took me a bit to type all of this down so tell me what you think and hopefully somebody/ a group can make this mod possible

i don't know man... i know that from a design standpoint yes i technically can build a framework that is that size... i also can design guns to do that kind of stuff.... but i can't draw a new ship graphic mesh not my skilll... also changing how ships are built is not an easy feat would be best if done at a ship yard and you mod the ship yard size to make it posible...


other than that option i think i can make an XL ship yard build it... i turn off colision detection while undocking so its over sized hulll will float through the station... now if your expecting graphic perfection where it looks real pick something smaller to build so it fits in a dock...

now as for killing arawns, i don't need a new ship size to do that lol all i need is a frame work and i just attach guns and shields where ever i can fit them and if i designed new guns the arawn would be disarmed before it ever got in range if your crew was skilled... like i could design the super long range missle you asked for... boost the blast effect and the range to like lets say 20k... max distance for guns on standard ships is 7.2km so its way out of range... for standard fire and even the IHC only shoots like 12km i think.


thats the easypart, but the trick but you have to teach the combat scripts how to use your long range missle or it will just act like a short range missle till it misses... then soemthign very far away will suffer lol...

now as for your comandder stuff... try UFO mod... its not something that was easy to make and most modders will stear clear because its not a mod its a totall rewrite and compile of part of the engine of the game...very tricky stuff...

hope that helps... if you want ot see an example of a ship redesigned look for my refinery ship its just a tittle with about 30 new gun emplacemnets and a lot of other stuff created...
