Then, as I browse the workshop, I see characters that are kind of terrible-looking. Changing the colours of an item in the game and adding some scripting does not make it a totally new thing worth putting up online. It's ok to make stupid messed-up stuff for your own use, but don't put that stuff up for everyone with a steam account to see!
My other thought is that there are too many of some items. My motto is, "If I make an item but someone else has done the same and it's better, it doesn't go online." My logic is that someone who wants to subscribe to this thing won't want two, and they'll obviously take the better one. Of course, most others do not abide by this. This is why we see droves of terrible Freddy Fazbears, and only about three or four that are actually kind of decent. But, to get to those ones, you have to work your way through the maze of aforementioned terrible Freddies. (I don't play FNAF and wouldn't subscribe to any of them because of that, but it proves my point.)
Sorry I wrote so much. This is a very concerning issue for me in the Steam world, and am glad to see that others feel the same way.
And if anyone takes offense to this, I am sorry. It's not that I hate sub-par items, they just annoy me a little. Please don't get mad; I just wanted to blow off some Steam. :)
Im just saying that you shouldnt take it so heavly do whenever do you want i support creativity and I respect people who appreciate the work of others.
A while ago, as you can see in my workshop, I did an experiment, creating a typical workshop messed-up item, and it got more subscriptions than anything I had made before, including a pretty awesome Family Guy collection I made before accidentally deleting my file.
Thanks, it's quite silly to see that someone came to a rant post to say how to do something. It's a weird world out there.
