Developing for the workshop.
Dragonfall has been around for some time, yet when I compare the workshops, I see 29 items, verusis SRR's 290.

I've been looking over the store pages as well. Is SRDF DLC? Or a standalone?

I want to build something, make a campaign, but there's not much of a point if nobody sees it. If I build something for SRDF WITHOUT Berlin's assets, will I be able to play it with SRR? If I use SRDF's editor and engine, will people who own SRR be able to access it? If I include the team-building aspect of it, like what's found in Dragonfall, will SRR players get that functionality?

I'm also trying to find HBS's forums, maybe I can get a better answer on what to develop there as well, but I'm not having much luck. Where should I go in these regards? There's this wierd ass divide between SRR and SRDF, and I'm not sure what to develop for, or what workshop to dl from. I've also put this here because this seems like the go-to place where I'd get the most responses. What do you think?

SRR is going to have a broader reach, and you can develop Workshop content for it without DF, so it sounds like it'll work for what you want to do.

Greetings!

HBS shares forum space with a few other companies on shadowrun.com; here[www.shadowrun.com] is a good starting point to find other modders and testers.

SRDF used to be a DLC, but after Dragonfall Director's Cut (DDC) came out, the old DLC was removed. Dragonfall is now just a standalone.

SRR and DDC have fairly different engines, and completely separate Steam Workshops, so you're better off just picking one and developing for it. I'd recommend focusing on DDC. The game is much more popular and that's where most new development is taking place these days.

I don't wanna rip on HBS, but ♥♥♥♥ me that's an ass backwards solution. I was hoping I was wrong. I was wondering why they didn't just update the engine for SRR, and keep DDC as DLC. To hear that was the original plan and they shifted away from it? GAH!

If you're sure that DDC is more popular? I haven't paid attention to the workshop for SRR at all when I beat Dead Man's Switch. I noticed that DDC was released in september of '14 and it's only got the 29 items. Is this comparable to SRR?

Thank you both very much for your help!! ^.^

I think DDC is much more popular in terms of how many people are playing it. If you check the game stats within Steam, at any given time more people will be playing DDC than SRR. On a personal level, I maintain the same campaign in both SRR and DDC flavors, and virtually all of my new subscribers arrive via the DDC side.

You're correct that there are a lot more items in the SRR Workshop, but most of those came out back in 2013 when SRR originally launched. New content is being developed for both SRR and DDC, but most major new campaigns I've seen are being developed against DDC.

Okies. Thank you again, Cirion. If I managed to get anything to completion, you'll likely see it for DDC! :3

Right now, I'll likely just make a music and matrix guide for people to break apart and learn from. After that, I'll start writing an outline, and go from there.
