Alley Remastered
Made a remastered edition of Alley
Only my second map, so feel free to give me some feedback :)

Okay, I gave your map some laps and here are my thoughts

Bugs:
  • Checkpoints are completely wrong, I've been going wrong way randomly on the map just by doing it. You need to use helpers, please check the tutorial.
  • The top-left bubbles can easily makes you fall down into the boxes.

Ambiance:
  • This is not alley anymore, neither "remastered".
  • Graphics are terrible. No effort have been done on this.
  • General layout isn't very enjoyable out of the "default alley". Some path barely have space to jump.
  • Floor weights are inconsistent for no obvious reason.
  • Doors are opening weirdly (looooong way)

Gameplay:
  • Good speed is available on most of the map, even "self made", that's a good point.
  • A path may lead to a dead end (forces you to go back) if you don't trigger a lever, that's terrible.
  • Not alot of slopes are hittable by "one will". Most of them are bubbles or direct fall.
  • You should remove the dropping slope at top left after sliding under the boxes (between Main Loop 97 and 98). It makes the turn around very difficult
  • The upper path is ridiculousely tight. Its boxes are hard to avoid (mandatory path).
  • Top grapple areas are useless.

I didn't list all the issues. My opinion is that you should remove the top part and rework the graphics, and your map would be good. Deleting some bubbles paths would be nice too, IMO.

Thanks for the feedback, really appriciate it :) I've tried to fix some of the things you've mentioned and this is what I ended up with :

Renamed it, as you said - its not much alley anymore :) And what you said about the grapihcs was very correct - no effort was made. But thats because I didnt know how to use diffent layers :o And removed a bubblepath :)

Anyways, the updated map is out :) feel free to give it a go :)
