What are you trying to do? The workshop has balance files and custom maps at the moment, both are in the PC version main menus after you subscribe to them in the workshop. Edit world will pretty much break your game so backup the prf folder in your game folder if you plan to use that. If you want to use the balance files open the balance file menu and using the tab you should get a list of subscribed files, pick one and update your game to see its effects, you can also create your own from there and upload them.
