Anyone know if there's a mod that makes research overflow?

For example, let's say you did a sponsor goal and got 5k research from it. You're currently researching something that costs 2k, and the other 3k is just lost forever.

Or is it already a thing in the base game and I just missed it?

It is a thing, other listed researches will get those RP, and if there are none left the next "cheapest" tech(s) between all those available will get them.

There is maybe only one case where it may fail, when one has researched everything at least once then it may skip to select a repeatable tech, but I'm not sure about this specific case (and it would be a minimal loss in any case).
