not so supportive workshop support

in 7/10/2013, Orcs Must Die 2 proudly announced that they had steam workshop, however they don't seem to like players using it because if you use mod none of your progress, achievments, or characters will save. why would they be such idiots as to boast workshop support but not support it?

I believe the support to be lacking as well but in a different way. There are a lot of mods, that are basically user generated cheats, and they could fly through everything if progress was saved on characters, achievements and the like. You can change everything from trap cost, to how weapons work, and with that in mind it doesn't fit with the core game. So having the core progression seperate is a good thing. However, they could have added a separate mod progression as well, and that imo is what is necessary.

What I would have liked to see is workshop support where they can differentiate between UI, and character skins to other game mechanic tweaks such that players do not have to use the same UI and skin mods.
