Problems with the workshop
I have noticed a few problems with the workshop.

Wrongly set tag, I find a lot of mods where the creators use the wrong tags. So there are engines, gearboxes & paint jobs that are all tagged as trucks instead of using the correct tag.

There is no option to filter by a specific game version. Yes, there is the option "Show incompatible items" at the bottom, but most mods do not specify a version, so this is useless. The fix here, you must and can only specify a version number, otherwise, the mod cannot be published.

The "Filter by Date" function doesn't seem to work for me at all. When I enter a date and confirm, nothing happens. Sometimes I also have it that I select a date in the year 1970.

then thell the mod maker to change in a comment under the mod :)

That answer isn't helpful at all.

because, there are thousend of mods that use wrong tags and/or don't have versions listed.

When we see them, we fix wrong tags on mods. Mod mod authors come back and put them wrong again after. And then there are some authors who do this on purpose because they mark EVERY tag thinking you need to see their awesome sticker mod when you're looking for a sound mod.

Can't you ban them?
Or is there a option to blacklist them for be, so that I don't see there stuff?

This isn't going to fix your issues, and will possibly keep mod authors from uploading them instead if it also requires to update the info/mod every time the game updates.

I agree about the tagging though, but I can also imagine it's a language thing for some people.

tbh, my interior accessory mod is tagged as "interior" and "other", though it's not an interior and other is too vague, but there are no specific tags for interior accessories.

If you upload a mod and set it to version 1.50 and the game updates to version 1.51 nothing happens to the mod.
I just don't see the outdated mod when looking for mods in version 1.51.

In other words, why would I want to see mods that are not compatabile woth the game version I am running?

As a search option I guess it will do some good indeed :-)

Though I think finding the right mods is mostly difficult for new players, I get the frustration, but I prefer to read the latest comments and have a look at when a mod was last updated.

There are some good mods out there that you won't see when limiting version search, and going by most popular doesn't guarantee that those mods work for example.

The tagging issue is a far greater source of annoyance :-)

edit: Seems like your edit wasn't there when I replied the above, but that's the whole thing many mods will survive many game versions, so you'd miss out on those, plus mods get updated so the upload version maybe 1.40, so you won't see them eventhough they have been updated, or would that reset the upload version..., which really doesn't mean the mod has been updated, it could just be things that were added to the mod,..

Interior Accessories would be "Truck Parts" and "Cabin Accessories" ;)

And the language issue does account for a slight minority of mis-tagged mods. But they usually pick something close to what they're actually uploading.

The folks who pick EVERY tag are the most annoying, IMO. hehe

I'm going insane, where did I get that from then, I've mixxed things up somewhere, maybe the search function on Steam is different from the uploader, but yeah you're right.
Just opened the uploader, and indeed I did use Truck Parts and Cabin accessories and Other, and while I'm writing this I'm recalling that "other"was because there's an item in there that didn't fit the other catogories.

Can't agree more :-)

I think there might be a misunderstanding here.
In the workshop, there is a section for "Brands" and "Truck Parts". Add one for "Version". Then the mod author checks all versions their mod is compatible with.
I had to do a bit of rethinking here, because of that multisession compatibility

As for the language barrier, tags can't be localized.
If so, Valve should add that feature.
