Late reply, but figured I would help you out a little if you are still interested. Pretty much anything can be done with Wildermyths modding, and the devs are very helpful in adding new features to mod even further on the discord. You can also find a lot of helpful modders there for your queries. :-)
As for your question, it is now possible to add completely new races or classes with unique skill decks. Drauven PC is a good starting point for that, it adds completely new rigs and skeletons as well which will mean a lot of work.
If you just wish to add new abilities and stats it is much easier. You can either copy paste abilities form the assets folder to your mod or you can copy it from inside the game editor.
Check out the wildermyth modding wiki on how to add abilities and you should get a good start, and like I said, the discord is very helpful and friendly if you are stumped. :-)
Wildermyth has huge modding potential, and don't worry about expanding on the game. Just have fun.
Hope that helps!
