-> Create 2 Factions where I you add "Dead NPC" as leaders, add Respawn stations at a Rich ore spot having all ores within 1Km for both Factions with a few ships inside Admin Safe Zone so players Must join the Faction to have access to those stations and ships.
= Does not prevent players to create new Factions but they don't have any advatages doing so.
Thanks for your suggestion.
The scenario I would like to create would need to be one where players do not have the ability to create their own faction. Admin of the server would create 2 factions for the players to join and that would be it.
Do you have any ideas on how to achieve this?
I'd state the 2 factions as different than each other in small ways, then saying to the players that this is a requirement and give them a week before banning them for not joining.
Consider what random junk happens. 8 Players joining Red faction and 2 joining Blue faction.
Story: I joined a faction so I could use a cryopod. Logged out in cryopod, came back and couldn't leave cryopod because the owner changed ownership so I was not part of the faction anymore and couldn't access/leave the cryopod until I found the new faction name and join that.
As there would be only 2 factions, these would be admin created so no one would ever be kicked. What happens now if someone is in a faction owned cryopod and they are kicked from the faction? I guess the scenario you describe already exists.
I believe there are always going to be challenges. I would simply like to create a server that promotes teamwork with a common enemy as opposed to lots of enemies.
Yeah that is a good idea; however, that agreement can be broken anytime.
That would work on first spawn but once ship & equipment is gained they would be able to leave and create their own clan.
I had a thought about players being able to create their own faction but then having a server rule where they have to be allied with one or the other, but there is no way to enforce that.
It would be ideal if on the faction creation screen to make a faction they had to align with one side or the other would be a perfect solution.

The SE Devs want to keep working on the game as to make it better from community suggestions and told the community to create new vote Feedbacks (petitions) on their Support Portal so don't be shy to add it to their choice list.

Wait, maybe another player having a solution will see your discussion and post in.
I am not saying my idea is perfect or fully developed and you raise some valid points.
My premise is that instead of a whole bunch of indies against each other, which in my view leads to everyone is your enemy and leads to primarily offline griefing because PvP encounters are remote, to instead having two main factions that are pitted against each other. This will promote teamwork and PvP events such as Dominance, Capture the Flag and other type scenarios etc etc.
I have seen organised battles and they look super fun but they seem to be elusive to the ordinary player like me. I believe there is fun to be had with arena style battles and my idea helps develop this style of game play.
