Talking about the Current Modding Scene
I haven't played this game proper in a good 3 or so years, I stopped around the time I got the outfits for Chaos Wastes. I'm getting back into it, and I really need to ask: What is going on with the mods in this game? I've played something like 1,800 hours of Darktide, and I cannot imagine playing that game without it being modded to high heavens. This game only has, what, 9 implemented mods? And most of them are depreciated and don't function anymore?

It's so strange, the contrast between Darktide and Vermintide 2's modding scenes are stark to say the least. It's almost oppressive how it's split, with there being a 'modding realm' and a 'vanilla realm' that can still be modded for some reason? The only reason I can think of for this still being a system in limbo is that it'd be too much work to revert, not enough resources to dedicate to it, or the modding community has moved on and doesn't care anymore. At least, that much is evident with the state of the current workshop.

If it were me, I'd get rid of their archaic system and lay out specified guidelines like they did for Darktide's modders, and let the community go wild. Nothing that alters gameplay for other players, no cheats, no unfair advantages. Just quality of life stuff and cosmetic mods that don't need to be directly certified, since it seems Fatshark has given up on doing the whole approval system here anyway. Darktide's been going for years now and it's fared just fine with Nexus Mods. I can imagine it'd breathe more life into this game too, as I'm sure having two realms makes the player pool a bit shallower than it otherwise would be.

So am I wrong to think this, or are people content with this weird workshop setup? Not even sure if anyone'll read any of this, considering how little activity this sub forum already gets. Just figured I'd leave my thoughts here in the hopes anyone at Fatshark or other modders will read it anyhow.

I hope someone will notice this for real.
Vermintide modding is pure hellish experience comparing to Darktide.
Vermintide has a mopdding scene. But due to it being on a different realm and fatshark being extremely slow with sanctioning stuff. That means most modding only happens on modding realm and then its mostly difficulty mods as there is not much point in doing fancy ui mods once the basic needs are met.
Welp...
I really don't understand why they wouldn't approve a single mod after all these years
