trying to mod armor stats??

I've been trying to modify the def stat on a piece of armor by going into the data files, items, changing it's armor %, but it doesn't seem to make any difference in game. how do, please?

Did you try creating a new map after you made the changes? Some things only update once you've created a map since they're saved as part of the map.

@darke I did! but it turns out what I wanted to change are event items, and those aren't changeable :( I don't know how to create new items that look like them, either, so I'm kinda SOL on that, but I found a mod that adds armors I like, and I managed to modify *those* stats, so I'm happy!
