problem with loging into servers

each time i log into a server it shows a black screen or disconects me while saying time out the times i get in and it shows a red icon of a cabel and a cabel-plug right before it disconects me and than i get the message timeout how can i solve this? p.s english isnt my first languege so sorry for any mistakes

Desert Punk has Natural Selection 2

Your install may be corrupted. In steam library, right click on Natural Selection 2, left click properties, left click Local Files, then left click Verify Integrity of Game Cache. If your game is missing files it will download them after the check. If that doesn't work uninstall the game and reinstall it. I had to reinstall with mine
