Making an OBJECT your AVATAR?
I have seen some peoples' creations and would like to use them as my avatar, but it seems that I cannot copy them to it. Any way how to? Like, move a file?

I think the only way to do it is to rebuild it yourself by copying the individual parts into the avatar maker.

That is the only way I'm aware of. I haven't found any folder where avatar objects are stored, and I'm pretty sure they're built into the profile.dat file. Copy one of the existing avatars you have to a new slot, edit that, and then stamp in the object you want to use as an avatar. It will have you pick a part of that object to stamp, so just bring in the head, arms, legs, and torso one by one. You'll most likely have to also adjust the size of the bounding boxes to fit the parts. They're a pain to get to position and line up, but if you turn on the display for them and click in the green area, you can move and resize it as you need. You'll know you have it selected when the middle <-> flip icon on the left greys out but it still lets you move and rotate.

Special Note: Whatever you do, DO NOT touch the leg parts in the editor. Leave them in, and cover them with the legs from the avatar you're using. Removing those parts somehow breaks the bounding boxes for the legs and permanently raises your foot level up to torso level, making your legs clip through the ground. You can resize and move the part you paste over the original leg, and you should be OK with resizing or moving the bounding boxes as needed, but the moment you delete one of the original legs you get to start over.

I didn't know you could resize the bounding boxes! That's useful to know.

I'll take heed of the warning. Thanks.
