Submission Guidelines and Resources

A new set of documentation is now available to help you on your path toward creating awesome items for Dota 2. In this guide, you'll find Frequently Asked Questions, General Technical Requirements, and specific guidelines for each hero.

This document is a work in progress and will be updated as we finish writing and compiling more resources and add more heroes.

if i make item hero but its color not from color shame is my item will be reject?

for example:
i make blue helm for davion(dragon knight)?

Colour schemes can be changed, as long as they stay fitting to the hero. If you wanted to make a Dragon Knight suit with blue and silver replacing the red and gold, it's not breaking any rules.

Just don't go making people wear things they never would normally, like bright colours on an assassin.

Good examples would be Sven's Swordmaster set, which replaces grey armour with red, or Invoker's two sets, both of which change his colours completely.

The best place for you guys to start is to head over to the Polycount Dota2 contest forums and check out how everyone else is building their sets. Part of the contest rules is to show how you go about doing what you do so there is plenty of info there.
