Description
My second class mod, this time presenting the Heavy Gunner Class. Has three Skill Trees, Bulldozer, Fire Support and Personal Defense. I really like the Grenadier class however a part of me wanted to see a heaver gunner class that did not also function as the demolitionist class. You need a promotion screen mod to properly use this class mod any one will do as long as it lets you see 3 or more skill trees.

Class Description: The Heavy Gunner is a soldier who can provide fire support and clear the path for their allies. They are armed with a heavy machine gun and a sidearm. They are one of the more durable soldiers available to our forces.

Weapons:
Primary: Cannon, Assault Rifle
Secondary: Autopistol

GTS Perks: Armor Plating, Hard Target, Combat Aggression
Armor Plating: The Heavy Gunner gains +2 armor and 4 Shield HP.
Combat Aggression: When fired upon, gain one extra action on the next turn. Triggers once per turn. The heavy gunner takes 25% less damage from attacks.
Hard Target: Gain 8 dodge per enemy you can see, up to a maximum of +40. Units visible at squadsight ranges do not confer bonus.

So I made a discussion tab that has all the classes abilities. Less information overload on the class description.

---Required Mods----
Since the class now uses sidearms as a secondary weapon this mod needs [WOTC] Iridar's Autopistol Overhaul ( https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1513282047 ). This is mainly for the animations for fanfire and being able to use the Autopistol as a secondary for non templar classes.

If you prefer using a pistol for your Heavy gunner there are some commented out files (located in the config folder of the mod) uncomment them and comment out the side arm stuff. You will also want to replace the corporal perk A115SidearmGunner with pistolgunner. Sadly I could not make the class effectively use both a pistol and a sidearm with the Duelist perk so a made an autopistol version and a pistol version of the perk. So I recommend only using one of these two secondaries with the class.

"uncomment them and comment out the side arm stuff"

what does this mean? In laymen terms for non modders. I swapped the perk to pistolgunner but am not sure what the first step means...

tbh I have used this mod in the past without doing anything but with a pistol as the sidearm sometimes when they would go to shoot it it would just stay holstered and they would point and shoot an invisible handgun

@Alpha115 ah, I see, thanks for the explanation, I look forward to trying this class out in my next playthrough, especially since I have the heavy assault rifle mod, which should make for a good combination

@Serpentax a late reply but yeah in the current build of the mod only extra mags gives an ammo slot. Traverse fire used to do it before Extra mags was created, I simply forgot to update the mod perk descriptions here on the mod page. As for stacking you cannot have more then one ammo slot so it cannot occur, even if 5 perks gave ammo slots they will not stack.

so both extra mags and traverse fire give them an ammo slot, so how does that work? do they get to apply 2 different types of ammo at the same time? and what if you're using a mod the gives soldiers an ammo slot like locked and loaded, do they then get 2 ammo slots from the start and 3 with traverse fire?

So I'm still running this with RPGO/commanders choice. My question is what could I edit on this config that would keep them from spawning/rolling this class hence forth? I have about 6 already, I'd just like to keep anymore from spawning.

Would love to see an RPGO compatibility mod for this!

@Malakie so good news, the mod requirement is not malware. However I did not type the link in correctly. I set it up like this (https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1513282047) , which broke the link when it should be like this ( https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1513282047 ) . Also you can access the required mod over to the side under required mods. its right under required DLC.

The link you supply for a required mod is flagged as malicious and trojan. Can you remove it please and any requirement for your mod needing it.
