[Already included in GEG 1.2] GEG - gpgpgpgp's Looting Tweak

Description
Note: GEG 1.2 has included this mod! No need to load it twice!

In 7.62 HL, a major pain is you need to pick every single item out of every single vest, belt and pouch during after-battle looting, in order to find misc items like meds, camo paints, random valuables and boxes of high quality ammo in need. Such action is especially important in low CGLs.

Imagine a 20 dead body random encounter, you will have about 140 *(1) items waiting to be dragged out from their container items (vests, etc). While the combat takes only 10 minutes, you spend twice as much time clicking and dragging. Fun can it be for the first few hours in a new CGL, slowly it becomes repetitive.

Why there isn't a action that automatically extracts all items out of a contain item? This has to be a good idea.

So I picked up modding HL and managed to tweak some of its LUA code, which led to this mod. By modifying how "Fold" action works, looting vests & belts is now much more time-efficient. Comparing with vanilla 7.62 HL, such tweak saves around 73% *(2) ops to finish looting a 20 bodies battlefield.

---

*(1) ~ 4 items per vest * 20 vests + ~ 2 items per belts * 20 belts + 50% belts have addtional pouches * each containing ~ 2 addtional items * 20 belts = ~ 140 items inside

*(2) 100% - (50 "fold" ops) / (50 "inspect" ops + 140 "drag" ops) * 100%

---

Before subscribing, note that this mod is built on the basis of GoldenSilver's fantastic GEG (Give Everybody Guns) mod. So it probably won't work right without it.

With this mod, you can:

1.Use "Fold" action on vests, belts, pouches on the ground. The container item (vest, etc) will be folded into "ready-to-transport" shape, and along with all items inside it, be dropped on the ground. You can then hit HL's "stash all ground items" action in the dog tag and later manage all those misc clips, ammo, meds and food in stash UI with ease.

2.Use "Fold" action on vests, belts, pouches, sacks in hand without worrying your items inside being "confiscated" by the engine. They will be dropped out on the ground. Works like a bug fix for vanilla HL.

3.Use "Take xxx out" action in stash/shop interface on vests, belts, pouches, sacks and backpacks, just like HL's new container items like "Camo Bag" and "Guitar Box". It's now a lot easier to manage such container items and items inside in stash/shop interface.

4.As a trade-off, you can no longer use "Fold" or "Unpack" action on vests, belts, pouches and sacks in combat mode, to prevent a potential game crash. (Multiple DropItem(xxx) script commands called in the same time crashes the game when it's in combat mode)

-- Addtionally --

5."Stack" those UGL grenades and rockets.

6."Unstack" uncooked fish/meat. A work-around for HLA bug that cooking stacked fish/meat results in reduced yield.

7."Combine" 7 dynamite sticks to create a bundle, or "Spilt" a clustered dynamite bundle.

8."Repair" a useless "Old 20L Gas Can" into a working empty gas can (with duct tape, +_+).

-- End of Addtions --

Note that this mod is a "pre-fully-tested" release, plus I'm not an experienced 7.62 modder, so this mod could contain / lead to bugs or exploits. Use at your own risk. (at my own risk too, since I'm actively using this mod myself)

Constructive feedback like script improvements & bug avoidance is welcome.

Known Issue:
1.If you use "Examine Items" / "Inspect" action on container items (vests, etc), and before closing the "what's inside" window, you click "Fold" action, the window will be left open with looks like the items are inside. If you then operate with the window (clicking "X", etc) or any item inside, the game gets angry and crashes itself.

To avoid this, close window first or click "Finish Inspect" before clicking a "Fold" action.

If the window is already left open (by mistake), you can always let the window close itself by pressing ESC or "leave sector" or "show/hide inventory" key.

is there a chance for it as a standalone for vanila?

@Phoenix In my own experience, the game is most likely to crash when rendering "preview pic" for gun/accessory combinations. Doing a full arsenal pre-rendering for all guns in the game does reduce the crash numbers. I believe GoldenSilver has a tutorial on how to do it.

Yes, the GEG mod is great, it's a pity the game with it often crashes. Even with an alternative exe file.

@Phoenix It was quite tiring to maintain 2 branches at the same time (too many script lines to diff/merge), so I felt lazy and decided to focus on GEG version long time ago. Since I don't really want to play 7.62HL without it anyway.:steamhappy:

@GoldenSilver
I translated incorrectly. I thought it was a separate mod. But you used it as a sub-mod for your own, which was later transferred. It is a pity that it causes some errors in vanilla, it is really useful. Excuse for troubling.

@Phoenix

Are you using the required mod?

Hey. I found the following bugs when using this mod:
These 2 drawers disappear when unpacking. Box with ammunition 7.62x51 (FJM) and Wooden box with carbines AR M7F (10 pieces)
In the boxes where there were 10 rifles was only 5t.
A damaged box with M4A1 rifles, bought from a merchant, also evaporated when unpacking (I did not test this bug, but I think it is also associated with this mod).
Ps My English is bad, so do not blame Google translit;)

As of update 1.2, GEG already comes with this by default. Thanks for letting me include it gpgpgpgp!

Would you be so kind and make a download link for players outside of steam?thanks
