Reward Blocks Pack

Description
This pack includes some VERY POWERFUL, practically-cheating blocks.

However, there is no way to reproduce, replicate or build these blocks in survival mode. They don't even show up in the G-menu! They all require a single unobtainable component. And if you grind down the block, the unobtainable component turns into a piece of scrap and you just lost your powerful block. The only way to get them in your world is to paste in their blueprints which I provide below.

So what's the purpose of this mod? - To add powerful "reward" blocks to your world or scenario for survival characters to find and jury-rig to their builds. Or to have OP blocks as a server admin that is unavailable to the regular players.

UPDATE:
[SEE] Super Engineered Encounters features these blocks! Check it out! Don't check it out. It's old af.

^^^ This is needed ^^^

Included Blocks:
  • Infinity Nexus - A Powerful large-grid large reactor that doesn't require any fuel. ~~~~~~~~ Model made by Inferi and is taken from THIS MOD with explicit permission.

  • Insanium Armor Blocks - Almost Indestructible blocks. Not even grindable. But still dies to falling and some impacts. - Also comes in small-grid size.

  • Quantum Vortex Thruster - Extremely power efficient HUGE atmospheric thruster. Oddly high idle requirement though. 20% Thust Power in Space! 1MW idle, 6MW full thrust, about equal to x8 large atmo-thrusters, 9x9x3 large-grid only. ~~~ Model made by Rider and is taken from THIS MOD.

  • Solar-Siphon - A very powerful solar panel. Equivalent to about 50 large solar panels (60MW max output). Looks like an Ore detector, just aim it at the sun.

  • Singularity Destabilizer - A Super-BOMB. Slightly larger radius than a warhead's (damn hard-coded max radius), and ANYTHING even slightly within the radius is vaporized. Only a few block types can ever hope survive its terrible touch. ~~~~~~~ 2x2x2 Model made by Mafoo and is taken from THIS MOD with explicit permission.

  • Hydrogen Farm - Just like an oxygen farm, but for hydrogen. Alien plants or whatever! For comparisons; oxygen farm produces 0.03 oxygen per second (max), this hydrogen farm produces 0.15 max. ~~~~~ Uses default oxygen farm model.

Why does the link to toolbox insist on opening in a browser and not steam client? It is sucha pain to remember my password :steamhappy:

This sounds like it would go great with the Advanced Welding mod

Okay I can confirm that it was a software issue, using winrar and doing the same steps worked, the models and icons are fine, great !

Thanks for the replies, I appreciate the infos.

I think the issue is with how you're extracting the mod. I'm not familiar with bandizip. I use winrar and/or 7zip.

Also, oops accidentally deleted your post.

I use notepad++, but regular notepad would work too.

cubeblocks.sbc from this mod contains the info of all the blocks from this mod. find the block(s) you want to change (look for names and id's), and change each one you want to <public>true</public>. That's it.

I know it shouldn't break them, what you described is what I have done but as I said the custom models won't work, it might be due to what I use to open the bin archive and the sbc file, what software do you use to open them ? I could give that a try and see if it changes anything
Alb  [author] 1 Apr, 2020 @ 4:14am
Did they change how blocks show up in the g-menu? I doubt it. You open cubeblocks.sbc from this mod, and literally just change
<public>false</public> to
<public>true</public>
And it should show up in the g-menu just as you would expect. I have no idea why it's screwing up the model for you, it really shouldn't be doing that at all if you're doing this right.

@Alb do you think you could help out trying to understand why modifying "cubeblocks.sbc" breaks the models ? Would you care for it to begin with ?
ANONYME 1 Apr, 2020 @ 3:47am
Modifying the required file to make them work in the G-menu breaks the custom models and the blocks do not have any icons in the menu.
So don't bother.
