Thanks for the heads up snacker. It's insane to me how little Paradox cares about their mod community. They put on a friendly face then insist on breaking countless mods every patch without fail.

@Etiluos Thanks so much for the quick fix, seems to have done it!

@eqN From what I understand it's because old mods with graphical cultures are missing ship defines, which for some reason defaults them to bio ships? Basically Paradox broke nearly every old city, shipset, and portrait mod with 4.0.

There's a fix if you look for a discussion thread in the "4.0 Stellaris Mod Collection w/Load Order: ((( NSC3 - Season 1 ))), Planetary Diversity" collection.

I spawn as a random empire often and even there it comes up that your unable to build military ships. The main thing I noticed as a player, appears to be that your randomized empire chooses a non-bioship set (visually) but somehow still has bioship (food) costs on the ships I can still build (civilian ships only) as if they were bioships...

It's a super weird bug and yours is not the only mods I have seen it with. It is a lot of custom portrait mods for some reason that can sometimes do this.

I see what you mean it seems to be my mods with graphic culture folders, which are needed for the city sets. I have updated these portraits and it hasnt pop up in my end now after a couple tests on the large maps just using observe. looking for empires with 0 fire power except for chosen ones which is its own start, if no 0s then they have ship.

OK, testing with only portrait mods enabled this happens with other mods, all of them yours. The slime mod, the kiev'arian dragon mod, and the geometry mod all also exhibit this issue.

If I use the console to play as these empires, they can only create defense platform designs and have no default corvette designs. It's impossible for them to create ships.

Seems to cause issues on 4.0 where random empires are able to pick this as a graphical culture and won't be able to spawn any ships. I tested a game and only random empires with "graphical_culture="esgoo_01" were unable to spawn ships. I'm really confused as to why this is happening only with this portrait mod and not any others - I'll look into it more.

Depends does the DLC / update breaks the mod? if not the mod will work just fine, it wont fall apart if a text file doesn't say the latest version. I got to many mods to be updating just a text file, I will only update if something is broken that keeps this from being playable.

@LNSS
ah sorry was testing some stuff it should show up now.
LNSS 2 Jul, 2024 @ 7:23pm
Doesn't actually work, it seem they're not properly defined as machines.

All the species mods should be working for 3.12 version now.
