SWTX 28000 GAL TANK CAR

Leírás
Hello, This is my 28000GAL (101975L) tankcar. It is (as far as I know) only compatible with my locomotives as the couplers are different from most other locomotives available on the workshop, sorry about that.

FEATURES:
-Working Train Brake (the air hoses must be connected to be operational); there is also a built in delay (as in real life) from the point they (the cars) receive a signal from the locomotive to apply their brakes.
(I forgot to mention in the video that the Train/Automatic brake is 'Direct Release' which means that the brakes WILL NOT release until the Automatice Brake lever is at 0.00. This is accurate to freight cars in the U.S. and most other parts of the world.)
-Working Hand Brake
-Pretty close to a realistic fuel capacity
***PLEASE TAKE NOTE***
When you save your game and return to the cars later after reloading, the hand brakes will have reapplied themselves. Unfortunately, you will have to go release them again. Blame the Brakeman! :D

I do hope you enjoy it. If you have any comment or concerns please let me know so I can fix them and make this better!

BIG thanks to Donkk for letting me use his paint scheme and MrNJersey for his great tutorials!

SquaadZulu, ok when I get some time together I build you guys a frame.

Well, for now, I don't mind not having the self lapping system, as I plan on using it with some other trains that don't have the level of complexity the GP15 has (I found that, despite the coupler design, other trains can couple with both the GP15 and the tank car.) as well.

SquaadZulu, oh well those would require a nit of a rework on the logic side of the cars. Most (if not all) modern passenger cars use Self-Lapping Brakes and the GP-15 is not capable of of that.

I was thinking like a base to build some of the American passenger cars, like Amfleets and Superliners.

TheAviator, ok I think what your looking for is a modern 89ft TOFC. Those can carry containers, trailers ofcourse, and vehicles. Although, they can usually only carry single level containers, for two reasons. One, the clearance if "double stacked" would be too high for most tunnels; secondly, it would throw the center of gravity off and the car would be prone to tipping over when in cross-overs or turns.

honestly a crane system is what i want since its a pain to get heavy things lifted like Tanks, Planes and ETC

basicly but also having the option of having a custom box tank or what ever they feel like

TheAviator, you mean flat cars (TOFC)?

we mostly look for 40ft and 56ft but a 72ft would also be very intresting for transporting Land Vehicles and small boats

SquaadZulu, cool that would be great! I wanted to make shorter tank cars, such as the 55 footers and the like. But as you can see I haven't done them yet. As for a frame to build upon; what kind of car(s) did you have in mind? As most American freight cars (atleast modern ones) rarely share a common frame type with each other. If you go back to the the 1960s and beyond they did, but not today.
