Description
VERSION 2025 RELEASED - 20.05.2025





Experience the consequences of the resonance cascade scenario once again, and play as one of Hazardous Environments Combat Unit marines, Steven Mills. You are not a survivor, you are sent on a mission. Secure Black Mesa Research Facility with the rest of your squad and eliminate any hostile forces. You will experience Black Mesa disaster from a perspective of the villains and even see Gordon Freeman in person.

How to install:

Once you subscribe and download the workshop addon navigate to steam/steamapps/workshop/content/362890/1720191293

If there's no 362890 folder, then look in different folders for the mod after subscribing to it. Sorting by date may speed up the process.

Copy bmmilitary and Launch Black Mesa Military.bat (Launch Black Mesa Military oldmenu.bat is optional) files to your
Black Mesa directory (where game .exe file is).
Default game path is: Steam\steamapps\common\Black Mesa\

Run the mod using "Launch Black Mesa Military.bat" file you just copied

I managed to get it working, but I can confirm that there's no speech sound. I don't have any mods except the one recommended above by the authors on this very page:

Update: I removed the recommended mod and all audio is working again, even some cutscenes that were missing have reappeared. Sorry about the better soldier skins, but this recommended mod is definitely broken and corrupts Military. It should be removed from this page.

Fundamentally broken mod that doesn't even have functional level transitions the further along you go. Free, sure, but a waste of your time.

Hastily... if by six years in development you're calling it hastily then I don't know how slow mods are meant to be made. And you are lying, the dialogues weren't stolen, they were made by a voice actor who willingly provided the lines, because he was interested in the mod. Same goes with the soundtrack, it was composed specifically for this mod. As for the maps, I was peronally making them with my friend, so it's a proof enough, that your are lying. I don't know what kind of fairytale you are living, but you will find no comfort here. For spreading lies, I will personally remove all your comments from now on.

Black Mesa Military is a hastily made mod that doesn’t add any new models — everything is simply copied from Black Mesa. Over half of the dialogues were also stolen, as well as the soundtrack. The mod is full of bugs; for example, NPCs can get stuck in a way that makes it impossible to complete a chapter without using sv_cheats 1 and noclip. Considering the large number of bugs and stolen, glitch-filled maps, the mechanic where you have to get injured three times during a fight to be teleported somewhere else or lose all your equipment is very illogical.

The AI of the team and all NPCs is worse than in the original Half-Life released in 1998.

This mod wasted 3 hours of my gameplay plus an hour on installation — a total of 4 hours that I could have spent playing the original Half-Life.

the only way i got the mod to run is by typing in -game bmmilitary in the launch settings because the step by step guide did not work for me

for some reason when i try to change the video settings they're locked for some reason and the water quality stays on ultra and i cant change anything i thought going to black mesa then launching bm military might fix it but it doesnt

Could be the problem yes. Addons may cause this. Try clean version, otherwise you will never be sure.
