what about the animations? if I make it a new weapon, would I be able to change the animations easily?

Start FCS
Select the weapon you want to resize in Items-Weaons
There is a scale item at the bottom of the weapon menu.
If you change the number there, you can change the size in the game.

Find out how to let FCS load mod yourself.
