No AI System Jumping (2.3.1+)

Açıklama
Version: Anything after 2.3.1

The current vanilla behavior (2.3.2 -> 3.6.1+) is for AI to build new starbases up to 2 jumps away.

The problem is that the AI does not distinguish between a smart move to bypass a chokepoint and a worthless random 2 energy system in the middle of your empire causing needless border friction. This was worse in a old beta branch (2.3.1) at 5 jumps, but this mod will remain up for pre-2.3.1 behavior for those who want it.

This lightweight mod simply disables this, returning the AI to its previous behavior of only adding adjacent systems.

Compatibility - should be compatible with almost all other mods now.

Is not compatible with mods that change these two lines in the defines. Not achievement compatible

MAX_EXPANSION_DISTANCE = 2 # Max number of jumps away AI will build starbases
MAX_EXPANSION_DISTANCE_SUBJECT = 2 # Max number of jumps away AI subjects will build starbases

It should.

I don't guess this still works?

Good thing I found this mod, the fact that the AI was taking random systems multiple jumps away from their borders was annoying me. It never happens on the console edition (at least not until the AI discovers wormhole travel) so it pissed me off that it happens on PC.

It looks like with 3.6.1 the AI is makimg starbases up to two jumps away from its border.

If anyone observes the AI ignoring this please let me know.

Ok so I realized the problem which was silly, one of the updates after I stopped playing stellaris introduced a bug where local copies of a mod would break the downloaded one. This only should have broken the mod for me and I would think it should have been fine for anyone else. Regardless the public version is now working for me and should for everyone.
