Description



Cyborg-human faction, developed as a resistance to the Fringe. Utilize energy-based weapons, coupled with heavy ballistic weapons. Geared toward asymmetrical gameplay, the units all have particular strengths and weaknesses. Enhanced actors are very durable and unlikely to bleed out, but can still be killed by vanilla weapons.


*Story*

"Twenty years of prosperity. Man has gone farther into the reach of space then ever before. Growing pains aside, free trade has known stable and constant expansion. Once seemingly endless, the golden age has hit a jagged edge. TradeStars gone dark, blown out like candles. Charters banning trade and passage through whole arms of the galaxy. Fragmented and incoherent communications. Someone or something is out there, and it is coming."





Mod Features:

+FA-1 Force-field generator:
-Bunker defense/Anti-Aircraft unit that projects a force-field, preventing shrapnel and incoming fire from killinjavascript:ValidateForm()g your units. This script is LAG OPTIMIZED, meaning that it causes substantially less lag then other similar mods i've seen. It becomes active only in the proximity of enemy ships. A solution to the age old problem of dropship engines randomly decapitating your men.

+Banshee
-FLYING ACTOR. Equipped with a wingsuit, this actor is uniquely suited to flight. Handles and behaves like a UAV, once at the requisite altitude. 2 variants, one aimed at anti-air, and the other aimed at anti-infantry. The anti infantry unit has a specialized plasma-grenade launcher, designed for bombing runs.

+Trenchmen
-Enhanced clone. Strong, close quarters unit. Equipped with a burst-fire shotgun, with an underslung torch. Can deploy a temporary wall.

+Skirmisher
-Non-enhanced clone, equipped with a burstfire rifle

+Phalanx
-Non-enhanced clone, equipped with a reinforced shield

+Dragoon
-Strong, ranged infantry. Something between a sniper and a ballistics unit

2 unique maps, both of which are ACTIVE VOLCANOS.


*BACKSTORY*

TradeStar. The name carries such importance, it has become synonymous with wealth and power. The shadow that hangs over a whole myopic planet. TradeStar is a BLIP, on the galactic radar. The human expansion has pushed farther and faster, deeper into space - perhaps deeper than advised. In the fringes of the galaxy, political exiles, criminals, and ambitious men have long gone to seek shelter. The first humans to leave for space - the first augmented humans - did not leave with permission. Human factions were forced out to the farthest reaches, where they learned to survive, and for a time - thrive.

Then, the infection came.
For a second time, the earthlings had to adapt. New technology was required to survive, new strategy for the battlefield. Last Corp is the only surviving faction from the outer rim, and it's best bet to fend off the new plague. Having abandoned their homeworlds, Last Corp soldiers have become a faction for hire, fighting against the fringe wherever it should appear.


Notes:
The weapons and actors in this mod are all intended for specific purposes. The idea was to balance it in such a way that individual weapons/units were overpowered, but only in certain circumstances. The Banshee MK1 can decimate soft units and dropships with incredible ease, yet is useless against Techion and other robot actors.
Dragoons are incredibly powerful at range, yet are relatively weak in close combat. Human infantry is cheap and can provide the bulk of the army, yet are barely stronger then Ronin units.
This mod is still in progress, and I am open to further rebalancing. I would also like to further designate this faction as a counterpart to my "Fringe" faction.



Known issues:
-The larger volcano map is somewhat laggy, although smooth on newer computers
-FA-1 Forcefield generators should be placed sparingly. They don't lag as much as other similar mods that I've encountered, but they can still put a tax on the game
-Avoid placing FA-1 on the volcanic maps, unless you're indifferent to lag

Ohh ya know what I haven't gotten around to uploading the last corp yet and the fringe tech is uploaded but I took it off till I upload the cleaned up version (when I ran it thru the converter I had to cut out some script that was based on the AA actor) the cccp version doesn't have the AA turret so it gave some command terminal errors but other then that ran fine

The forcefield is the best thing in this mod. I played one match not using a bunker and dropships replaced the land.
