Fun with Alternate Start

Description
This mod adds more scenario options to Shattered and Randomized Worlds. They're really nothing special to them outside of the novelty of having them.

In particular, it adds in four new options:

More Temples Holdings: This replaces castles held by Iqtas and Monastic Feudalisms with temples instead. Expect LOTS and lots of tax income, but not a lot of levies.

More Monastic Feudalism: This increases the chances of Monastic Feudal lords spawning in the world. Specifically, it converts Hindu, Jain, and Taoist rulers to Bodpa Bon rulers so they can be Monastic Feudal lords. (This doesn't change the culture and religion of the provinces though, I'm still new to modding CK2, I'm not very good at it yet.)

Lots of Republics: This adds a LOT of unplayable republics to the world, as well as a bit more merchant republics. Keep in mind that most of these republics are not playable.

Lots of Theocracies: Like the Lots of Republics option, it adds a LOT of unplayable theocracies to the world. Sometimes this means the HRE and the Byzantine Empire will also spawn in as theocracies.

Thanks for the reply. I have done my best, but with very little success. In /common/alternate_start/ I've tried editing the spread_01.txt, but it yields no results if I try to use the "region = world_europe" scope.

Unfortunately I have not yet tried something like that before. That's something you might have to test out for yourself

Sorry, kind of unrelated, but do you have any idea how I could mod the random generator to generate religions and cultures in a way, that it wouldn't deviate too much from historical setting? Like, Indian religions wouldn't spread too far from India, and Europe would be largely dominated by Catholicism? Or that Somali culture would spawn in Africa or south of the Arabian peninsula, and Norse culture in Scandinavia or Northern Europe. Basically a mix between random/full random, and historical. Somehow limiting the spawning of culture and religion to world_regions defined in geographical_region.txt or something.

ok. Thanks for the quick response.

I'm actually not quite sure how to do that, unfortunately.

@Arthur GC
That is good to hear! I may update this again in the future, but unfortunately as of right now, I don't have any plans to update this particular mod.

@Cowcubus Managed to fix it, this issue is that there were 3 mod files inside the alternatestartfun.zip file, there should be only one (the descriptor one). I extracted the zip file, left just one descriptor inside it, and rezipped the package. Now it works as expected.

Is it possible to reduce that chance of spawning these new governments? It looks like more than 80% of the world is occupied by them now, which is game breaking (sort of).

Didn't work to me, I disabled every other mod except this one but no option shows up on the menu.

can you make it start with zero tech in every catagory?

I downloaded it using a steam workshop downloader so it's all good, you may want to see if the issue was specific to me or if it affects everyone though. The mod works fine for me. Also, I would love to see this mod expanded in the future, It could potentially be a near-overhaul of the random/shattered world option!

@NoseFaceButt
That's strange. Let's do some troubleshooting.
What folder is the mod placed in?
Is there a .zip and a .mod file?
What is the contents of the .mod file?
