Modern Infantry

Description
The Mechanized Infantry unit has a couple of cool-looking modern infantrymen flanking the main APC/IFV unit. Ever since Civ3 I've wanted the late game military not to lose its humanity and become entirely vehicle-based. Civ6 does the job, partially, with the inclusion of Modern AT, Spec Ops and the presence of those two guys in the Mech Inf formation.

But I felt that wasn't enough. So I took those guys and made a full formation with them. Being a second Melee unit in the Information Era, butting into the Mech-Armor-AT triad, the question was how to make it worthy and distinct. So here's my attempt at a "light" type of modern infantry with a couple of quirks in addition to being resourceless and cheaper than the later Mechanized Infantry unit.

Base Cost: 620 Production
Maintenance: 7 Gold
Required Tech: Synthetic Materials

Atomic era melee unit. +5 Combat Strength in Hills, Woods and Rainforest terrain.

Melee Strength: 80
Movement: 3

I can look into updating this mod and Revenge of the Barbarians in January. Got some vacations coming up. Could've sworn the Hills bonus worked when the mod first launched.

In the meantime, maybe you can share your fix via Pastebin? Thank you for looking into it.

I found the fix for that. The problem is that "TERRAIN_HILLS" does not exist in the DB, it's TERRAIN_DESERT_HILLS, TERRAIN_PLAINS_HILLS, TERRAIN_GRASS_HILLS, TERRAIN_TUNDRA_HILLS, and TERRAIN_SNOW_HILLS.

So Requirements, RequirementArguments, and RequirementSetRequirements need five lines each.
And REQSET_MODERN_INFANTRY_PLOT_IS_HILLS should be REQUIREMENTSET_TEST_ANY.

If author wants my update, happy to send to them. It's too many lines to post here.

Hi Shadow, description for ability is visible but are you sure if +5 Combat Strength bonus on hills is working? In forests and rainforests it's ok. In hills doesn't work for me.
