Description
In 1000 AD Leifr Eriksson sighted land on the horizon, a fertile land full of grapes and wheat. But what he did not know was that these lands in the North Atlantic were not just islands but were instead part of an entire continent full of peoples and cultures unknown to the monarchs of Europe. For centuries after stories would circulate all-over Europe of the fabled land of wine - Vinland.

This CK2 mod adds part of North America to the map along with
some Native American cultures and religions.

F.A.Q.

Q. Will this work with other mods?
A. I’m not sure. Try it out, but if it crashes, then it’s probably not compatible. I recommend playing with just this mod on to be safe, but some mods out there are compatible so long as they’re not overhaul mods like this one. Feel free to ask questions if you’re having trouble with it.

Q. Do I need a new save to play this?
A. Yes, otherwise the new areas won't show up.

Q. Why doesn’t the mod show up?
A. You probably have other mods turned on. This mod modifies a couple of vanilla files so loading different mods at the same time will cause the mod not to load up especially if there’s a conflict with files from other mods.

Q. Why does it crash?
A. Check if you have any other mods turned on. If you don't want it to crash then don't turn other mods on. Map mods that modify vanilla files like this one are notorious for being bad at mod compatibility. If no other mod is turned on feel free to ask questions about it.

Q. Why doesn’t it show up in my mod list?
A. Some mods from steam require you to manually restart the game for the mod to start downloading. Some require you to download them while the launcher is on. This will depend on your system as it’s different for everybody but the usual solution is to restart the game and check on the mod folder if the files are all in there.

Q. Does this work with HIP?
A. I haven’t tried it personally but according to a few commenters it does but the HIP custom start dates don’t work and the terrain in Europe is a bit different. Keep in mind loading this with HIP might create some bugs that are not in the base mod.

Q. Does this work with EU4?
A. No. It used to work but EU4 has received a lot of updates since the converter submod was last updated. You can roll back the EU4 version if you want it to work.

Q. Is this compatible with the Unofficial EU4 Converter?
A. No. It used to be compatible but they've since updated the EU4 Converter.

Q. Does this mod have anything to do with the Vinland Saga anime?
A. Not really. The mod was based off of the actual Norse sagas and does not reference the anime in any way. There probably aren't any spoilers in here besides the historical events the anime references. That said, I’ve been told that this mod spoils who gets to Vinland though.

@Zombaxx I'm also going to going out out on a limb and say this mod in general isn't compatible with other map mods like Lindbrook's or More Navigable Rivers, right?

@Zombaxx can you shed some light for the CK2 modding illiterate on how to use your work? Do I just extract it to the mod folder? Do I have to enable your fix and SoV, or just yours?

nations arent appearing, i have the mod enabled, and i can see vinland, but there is no 1000 starting date, and i cant see any nations just the land
