Description
While the EP&E had been running named passenger trains for years, it wasn't until 1919 that they acquired observation cars to cap them off. Two arrived from the Pullman Co., one for each train, and proved almost instantly popular. Little surprise, given the striking scenery of the Cascade Mountains.

The cars were retired in 1956, when the EP&E scaled back passenger operations, and placed in storage the next year. It is rumored one--maybe both--survives in an abandoned car barn along the Sumas-Glacier route, but attempts to locate them have been unsuccessful.
