Bio War is a modification for the original Command & Conquer that adds a minicampaign consisting of four missions that replace the four last Nod missions. In the campaign the player takes on the role of a Nod commander fighting against the Bio Defense Initiative, a perverted version of GDI that uses biological warfare, including visceroids.

Originally released in 2004 for both DOS and C&C Gold versions, the mod has now been recreated for the Command & Conquer: Remastered Collection.

The mod features two new units for Nod: the Heavy Tank and the Chemical Tank. More information about them below.

Additionally, the Red Alert Naval Yard makes an appearance in the third mission, where it has to be destroyed to complete the mission. It has no specific gameplay functionality beyond that.

New Units
Heavy Tank

The Heavy Tank replaces the Light Tank and uses the model of the Heavy Tank from Red Alert. It's a bit slower yet it's weapons are a lot more powerful than before.
  • Cost: $950
  • Hitpoints: 500
  • Weapon: Double 120mm cannons (Medium Tank's weapon)

Chemical Tank

The Chemical Tank replaces the Flame Tank, armed with dual Tiberium chemical sprayers. It is used by both Nod and BDI forces in the minicampaign.
  • Cost: $900
  • Hitpoints: 400
  • Weapon: Double chemical sprayers
  • Requires: Communications Center

Missions
All missions can be downloaded from the BIo War Campaign Mod collection.
  1. Water World: Somewhere in this region the Bio Defense Initiative has a Technology Center. We need their secret weapon's plans. Capture the Center, then destroy everything. Make sure that the Bio-Research Laboratory has been destroyed!
  2. The Bio War: The Bio Defense Initiative has damaged our base in this region. Your mission is to repair the base and destroy the bio-rats. Beware that they destroyed our Construction Yard! Since we stole their plans, you will have access to new weapons. Good luck.
  3. Third Strike: The Bio Defense Initiative has a Naval Base in this area. Mission objective: Destroy the Naval Base as fast as possible. Use our new weapons, the Hind that we saved from Stalin's group and the SSM launcher. Don't forget, be fast.
  4. Final Exam: This is the final battle. Since they stole the Temple's plans, they have access to a Nuclear Strike. Be careful: since they also have one of GDI's Adv. Comm. Centers they might have access to the Ion Cannon too. Nobody can escape from the Bio Defense Initiative's team.

I've never heard of this before, I look forward to giving this a try!

If this were a "new" mod (rather than a conversion of an old mod from 2004) I'd have a suggestion regarding the story - the name "Bio Defence Initiative" sounds a bit odd, as rather than defending against bio weapons they are using them!

I'd have simply said that GDI had now shown its true colours as an evil force intent on world domination, using it Tiberium-based bio weapons.

Or, perhaps Nod deep-cover operatives successfully infiltrated GDI and took control... but then refused to obey Kane's orders and decided to take power for themselves. (Very consistent with all the Brotherhood in-fighting we see throughout the games!)

But yes, looks like a brilliant set of missions.
