Badgirl Voice Pack (Ellis)

Description
"You think you're bad, dontcha'?"

A Badgirl voice pack to coincide with my my bro's Badgirl over Ellis addon.

I had a lot of fun working on this. Nothin' more to it than that.

IMPORTANT!!!!
If sounds are cutting off, that may be because I updated this addon. Simply re-subscribe and type in console on the main menu "snd_buildsoundcachefordirectory ../custom" so that longer sounds may play completely.

ALSO THIS IS HOW TO SPECIFICALLY INSTALL THESE FILES

Follow this guide here first to setup a "custom" folder: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2108763927

Once your done, download GCFScape if you haven't already: https://download.cnet.com/GCFScape/3000-20432_4-75182007.html

Once you do, right click on L4D2 in your Steam library and go to Manage then Browse Local files.

Inside go to "left4dead2" (the lowercase folder) and then "addons", then finally "workshop". Inside are all the addons you downloaded. Find the thumbnail for this addon, and the vpk file following that thumbnail is the workshop file itself. Open up GCFScape then drag that vpk file into it, and it should show the file path of the voice lines.
(\left4dead2\sound\player\survivor\voice\mechanic)

Create that file path in the "custom" folder you made and drag and drop the voice lines found in GCFScape into the new "mechanic" folder in the "custom" file path.

For removing Ellis' leftover lines safely if you dont want two voices out of Badgirl, go to Ellis' standard file path used by the game (\left4dead2\sound\player\survivor\voice\mechanic) and (\left4dead2_dlc1\sound\player\survivor\voice\mechanic) and in both "mechanic" folders create a backup folder (call it whatever you want). Simply move all the files from "mechanic" into there.

Afterwards, start up the game, and once all your addons load go into console and type in "snd_rebuildaudiocache" and let the game do it's things. Once it's done the console should pop up again, type "quit", then go back ingame.

And you're done!

I plan on doing voices for as many No More Heroes characters as possible, and many more characters in the future, so stay tuned!

I think we won after seven hours of struggle. I didn't win over Source Engine completely.

It is applied using an expedient, but it makes noise and gets fired. But it's good.
It's better than not being able to hear anything at all......
(For your information, I can hear the sound because I don't use the console)

I have my guide ready but essentially there's two problems with it:
-It has all the info from Doktor haus' guide in it (which is already linked in the desription).
-Steam compressed the images so badly that they're useless to the reader. I have no answer on how to fix this still.

I will still do my best to help you in the comments tho

I'll create a guide myself since a lot these steps are split up too much between 3 different guides, so I'll put one up as soon as I can. :D

i would appreciate a video too. im not familiar with doing anything more than clicking subscribe for a mod. i'm trying my best to follow your instructions but i get stuck at the gcfscape part. the file path i see doesn't match what you listed and im also not sure of how to create a file path in general for the custom folder. it was really helpful having the images in the custom folder setup link. i'm a rather visual learner so im struggling to complete the rest of installing this mod without visual aid :(

I have everything you need listed in the description, it takes no longer than fifteen minutes top-to-bottom.
