Original Weapons Sounds (SMG, Pump Shotgun, M16, Hunting Rifle & Auto Shotgun)

Description
A lot of things changed between Left 4 Dead 1 and Left 4 Dead 2, one of them being the sounds of the returning weapons from the original game. For L4D2 the SMG, the Pump Shotgun, the Assault Rifle, the Hunting Rifle & the Auto Shotgun received new sounds which are different from their original L4D1 counterparts. This mod simply replaces the L4D2 sounds of the returning L4D1 weapons (with the exception of the pistol) with their original sounds. Now, some of you may be like:

But Sergi, there's literally 5 mods in the workshop that already do that.

And for that, I have an answer which is that most of these mods have one big flaw and that is the gun firing sounds. In L4D1, these sounds used different channels depending of the distance of the source of said sound while in L4D2 both channels are used, not matter the distance (you can learn more how it works here). Some of the other mods didn't account for that resulting in the sound only playing in the left channel, to remedy that this mod comes with a modfiied game_sounds_weapons.txt file which, alongside fixing the left channel issue, also restores the original behavior of the gun firing sounds.

Now, because of how the game works, you can't load custom soundscripts files directly (unless is a per-map soundscripts, which tends to cause issues online). So, in order to get this mod working at 100% the following has to be done:
  • Subscribe to the addon like usual.
  • Boot up the game and then close it after it is done loading all your addons.
  • Go to your addons/workshop folder (which should be located inside your left4dead2 folder and look for a vpk file called 2289600750.vpk.
  • Open said vpk file with either Crowbar or GCFScape[gamebanana.com].
  • Extract the contents of said vpk to a new custom folder (let's call it l4d1_weapons_sounds) in the root folder of Left 4 Dead, where the folders left4dead2, left4dead2_dlc1, etc are.
  • After extracting the contents of the vpk, your custom folder should look like this[imgur.com].
  • Once done extracting and double checking the folder, go to the left4dead2 folder (not to be confused with the root Left 4 Dead 2 folder) and open gameinfo.txt with your text editor of choice (I personally recommend Notepad++, but the default Notepad pre-installed with Windows should do the job).
  • In said .txt file, look the SearchPaths section which should be located at the bottom.
  • Once there add Game l4d1_weapons_sounds over Game update (make sure to put Game l4d1_weapons_sounds below the bracket).
  • If you did everything correctly, your gameinfo.txt should look like this:
SearchPaths { Game l4d1_weapons_sounds Game update Game left4dead2_dlc3 Game left4dead2_dlc2 Game left4dead2_dlc1 Game |gameinfo_path|. Game hl2 }
  • Save your changes and then boot up the game (make sure to turn off this workshop submission or else the sounds may get buggy in-game), load up a map and test the sounds. That would be all, thanks to coming to my TED Talk.

for this mod, can I select which weapon sounds I want to enable? I want to keep my other addons and their sound without replacing them. I want to swap the pistols to the l4d1 ones and that's it.
