Shattered Realms

Splits the map into single counties and every title above will be destroyed. Update: It is now possible to shatter the world into duchies.

This is very bare bones, but delivers exactly what you can read in the little description above. A small mod I did mainly to practice, but I figured out someone could actually enjoy it and decided to share.

Should work with the majority of existing mods, you can also use it to shatter total conversions. I said should because the only thing this mod does is generating characters where needed based on religion and culture of the province they will be assigned to. Traits are randomized and the age is a random value in between 18 and 30.


Launch the game, activate the mod, select an existing character (or create one) and then take the decision. The game will freeze for a bit right after you take the decision, and when you zoom out due to the amount of titles being loaded. Just don't panic.

Remember that you will be assigned the title (county if you're shattering counties or duchy if you're shattering duchies) corresponding to your capital, and in case of multiple titles you may just change your capital province before taking the decision.

Be sure to read the changelog for all the changes.


If you are playing a custom character, make sure to advance at least one day since the start of the game. As of the time of writing (version 1.5.1.1) the game needs to update the list of titles held by a custom character after you started the game and some time has passed (one day will do).
