Most shipsets only have a single model that they use for each ship class, and they either make every section that model, or change the (normally invisible) frame mesh to that model. But because the carrier is borrowing the battleship model and applying it over the carrier frame, this can cause duplication. The fix is to make the carrier frame invisible, and change battleships so that they have the carrier model as their hangar sections.
Unfortunately, there is no other way to do this; as the change is on NSC's side, not mine.
I've fixed the issue, but it does mean battleships will now sometimes look like carriers.
Anyone have any idea what might be causing this?
