On August 28th, 2002, Pride Fighting Championship Heavyweight Champion, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira took on Bob Sapp at the Pride FC/K-1 co-promoted event, Pride Shockwave. Sapp had a massive size advantage on Nogueira, weighing three hundred and seventy five pounds to Nogueira's 230.

While Nogueira had the clear edge in skillset and experience, Sapp's power was not to be underestimated, and at one point sprawled on a takedown attempt from Big Nog. From there, Sapp deadlifted his foe off of the mat, hoisting Nogueira into the air before delivering a horriffic powerbomb onto his head.

Although Nogueira would survive the crushing head drop to pull off a second round submission victory, Sapp's powerbomb was one of the most spectacular slams in MMA history and would likely have demolished a lesser opponent.
