DESCRIPTION

TL;DR: allows you to forbid certain weapons or weapon types from equipping certain weapon upgrades. Screenshots show some examples. Refer to the XComRestrictUpgrades.ini file for configuration instructions.

I like putting attachments on pistols. Pistols in vanilla are secondary weapons with infinite ammo. Being able to equip Expanded Magazines or Auto Loaders on them annoyed me. So I made a mod to fix that.

And then I made it configurable.

This mod is great, but im still able to use attachments from WIO onto melee weapons (a scope on swords is odd). However, looking at the discussion for ballistic shields should also work for melee weapons. The fact there's a ini that allows you to add additional restrictions is icing on the cake, :steamthumbsup:

You know, it reminded me of various Hollywood films, where the main characters can endlessly shoot pistols at enemies without reloading.

Nice work.. and I'm sure you saw these question comings;
How does it behave with modded weapons and/or modded attachments? (like the Chemthrower)

Does it conflict with the sweeping changes made in Configure Upgrade Slots ... or Weapon & Item Overhaul ?

Does it allow the -reverse- possibility of allowing possibly restricted attachments on to weapon?
For example: can it break the GEMs on Psi-Amps only function of Psionics Ex Machina .. ?
