HLE13 Pack

The Belgian Railways Class 13 (HLE13) is a electric locomotive designed by Alstom for use by SNCB (the national Belgian railway operator) and CFL (the Luxembourgish railway operator.) They are seen on freight and passenger duties. They were ordered by SNCB to replace multiple ageing classes, with CFL's reasons being similar. SNCB and CFL would procure the locos together and Alstom was chosen to make the locos. SNCB additonally ordered control wagons for the i11 wagons to work with the new locomotives. The locomotives had multiple issues relating to electromagnetic interference and noise levels. The HLE18's EuroSprinter locomotives eventually displaced most of the HLE13s onto freight duty, with the freight company Lineas purchasing multiple of the class, while the SNCB units are used on a handful of services. the CFL locos are still in service as of 2021 however 7 of them were listed for sale in December of 2020 however it is unknown whether the offer has been taken up or not.
