PT-106

Description
Another old workhorse brought back to life. The Elco PT boat or "Patrol Torpedo" boat was a fast attack vessel used by the US Navy in WWII. Original units were armed with only .30, and .50 caliber machine guns as well as 4 torpedoes, and as the war progressed they found these boats were easily out gunned so changes needed to be made. Units began mounting whatever type of heavy weapons they could get their hands on from howitzers to 20, and 37mm auto cannons, later war units even had rocket launchers as well as the 40mm Bofors cannon. Some PTs were also used for submarine defense carrying between 2 and 8 depth charges to good effect and naval mines tho those were hardly used. They were powered by 3 V-12 marine modified Packard engines which could get the ship cruising to a nice 41 knots at max speed. By wars end the PT boat had more "firepower-per-ton" than any other vessel in the US Navy

PT-106 like her sister PT-105 is powered by 3 medium engines giving her a top speed of about 50knots with the full weapon load. She also boasts a new green paint job unlike her sister.

PT-106 is armed with
-4 torpedoes
-2 twin machine guns mounted in 2 turrets mid ship
-1 machine gun on the bow
-1 20mm cannon on the bow
-1 40mm Bofors anti-aircraft cannon to take on incoming planes
- 2 depth charges with 8 second timers for the subs
she will pack a punch.

The ship is outfitted with a water pump for fighting fires (located mid ship top side); working bilge pumps forward, mid, and aft in the ship, as well as heaters. She has a working radar room as well as radios on the bridge and map room. She will stay afloat with any single compartment flooded but if 2 forward or 2 aft are flooded she will go under. Activate the pumps to pump her out and she can be re-floated.

This original build credit goes to Rtx_Live (Norwegian) https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2547703083 . My PT-105 https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2651318746&searchtext=pt I added the functional weapons and detailed the interior as well as some other things please checkout his build. Please do not re-post without asking myself or Rtx_Live (Norwegian) first. Enjoy PT-106

ALSO!! the 40mm is a bit heavier than the cannon on PT-105 so it weighs the back down a bit more when shes at full power so be sure to keep the back hatch closed during operation or water may get in at hard turns.
