描述
Have you ever found a weapon in Kenshi and thought "I should arm my squad with these" but couldn't seem to find a blueprint or a research to obtain it? Now you can reverse engineer any weapon you find (with some exceptions).

All weapons researches should take 24 in-game hours to research, each. This will vary depending on what research speed is set to in-game or by other mods.

Now with ranged weapons (and ammo)!

Now with armours!

Supported items will be in their own discussion post.

Was doing a RE mod for my unpublished masks on belts mod and decided to say thanks. Great mod! "Editing FCS.def is a pathway to many abilities that some may consider to be unnatural".
BTW, I found that some vanilla things are still missing or were left out on purpose: Dustcoats/Longcoats with and without sleeves; leather turtlenecks, shirts, vests and hive vests; square and ashlander's goggles; rusty tagelmust does not enable black version.

@pigsonfire that sounds right but you can only do one at a time, so if you want to switch it back to costing items instead of weapons or, for example, armor, you would have to change it back accordingly in the fcs.def file

I did some testing, from my limited tested I found changing line 1586 in the fcs.def file from
cost: ITEM (1) "the cost in resources"
to
cost: WEAPON (1) "the cost in resources"
Lets me set the recipe to a weapon. I did try to make it allow me to use ITEM or WEAPON but I couldnt get the syntax right.

@pigsonfire you have to change a property in a file for the fcs and I can't exactly recall how to do it at the moment.

I was trying to make a patch for Legendary of Kenshi but I can't figure out how you set the cost of the research as type WEAPON. It only lets me select items as type ITEM. Is there something I'm missing in the FCS?

@rudolf.kokkinias Research the Reverse Engineering tech in a regular research bench then you should be able to research the other items.
