Era B Railway Station Refurbishments

Description

Following on from my well-received Era A station refurbishment mod, here are five variants for the Era B Art Deco station.

Presently these are the colour schemes for the station main and side buildings:

1. White stone render/grey roof
2. White stone render/green copper roof
3. Pueblo brick (desert maps)
4. Orange brick/green copper roof
5. Red brick/green copper roof

In addition to the building there is custom detail on:

- Platforms
- Platforms with underpass
- Platform canopy
- Platform cast iron column supports
- Cleaner and simpler station name signs and platform number signs
- Simpler window arrangements, less busy
- Refinished clock face - now with numerals!
- Some stations with different floor tiles in main buildings rather than just the same as platforms
- All new platform surfaces without cracks overlay
- Remodelled Art Deco triple-window, skyscraper-style doors with new brass finger plates
- Enhanced facade decorative elements - the downside of this is a whole load of very ornate roof vents!

The models and other materials are all the intellectual property of Urban Games; I am responsible for a small amount of scripting and the textures.

UPDATES v1.3
============
1. Thanks to MadHatter's scripting, these stations will now take any track.
2. Empty platforms without assets.
3. Updated UI icons.

UPDATES v1.4
============
Following suggestions and encouragement from Green Ranger (Gr1m), the Era B stations have received an upgrade and some minor modifications. These include:

1. Gardens on station frontages similar to, but not as elaborate as Grander Stations. The beds are bordered with low brick walls in the same style as the station construction.
2. Removal and repositioning of some lamps.
3. Reinstatement of the some small wall-mounted lights that had been commented out.
4. Symmetrical station signs, also scaled down by 50% for exterior and platforms, some recoloured.
5. Additional benches on other frontages.
6. Removal of trashcans from station forecourts.
7. Tweaked and scaled Lombardy poplars to look like Italian cypresses.
8. Passenger capacities on all main and side buildings as per UG levels.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply era C looks bad, because that's 100% not the case. Funnily enough I thought you hadn't released it, and yet somehow had subscribed to it. Shows I don't reach era C often in my games, hey? xP

What you have planned with the gardens and decor sounds amazing, and I'm really looking forward to seeing what you're going to come up with up with :D Keep up the amazing work ^.^

@Green Ranger - I've got loads of your locos in my savegames - thanks so much for those, especially the latest LNER models.

I've got Grander Stations and am actively looking to adapt what's done in that mod for my station buildings. I don't know how elaborate I can make the areas, but am presently running experiments with my own versions of the station refurb mods.

I'm looking at different styles of garden/decor for the frontages, depending on which era the station belongs to. Once I'm happy with a layout, I'll update the mods and put some new screenshots up too.

When doing the initial texture colour schemes, I really enjoyed Era B and Era A (in that order), but found the Era C ones to be a chore.

*love* these, they look amazing, both era A and era B look wonderful.

Have you considered possibly beautifying the areas in front of the station buildings? I'm a big fan of nary_believe's Grander Stations mod, and I think these would look really cool with some extra garden assets added in.

I found that was annoying during testing - ended up circumventing it by typing part of the facade title in the search box. I suppose you could "lose" the files in the modular_station folder from TpF2's construction section...

Excellent work!
Just wish we could turn the default ones off, would shorten finding the module I actually am looking for 😆

UK HEIGHT PLATFORMS
====================

For those of you who have asked for higher platforms, I'm pleased to announce that my good friend MadHatter has done the hard work for this with his scripting expertise.

Following finalising of UI items there will be some further testing and the station platforms should now accept non-vanilla tracks. MadHatter's UK standard and high-speed tracks work with the station variants and other mods should too.

The UK Height Platform mods for Eras A and B will be COMPLETE MODS, rather than addons to the existing ones. Thus, players can choose to use the vanilla-height platforms, or the UK-height ones, or both together.

UK-height platforms can be found in their own category in the station construction menu. They can also be identified by a union flag icon.

Era C stations are undergoing retexturing at present and will be released in both vanilla and UK height versions.

Very nice Mod

@Michal9788 - Thanks for that, not sure about a thousand times better though! I think UG's professional graphic artists may contest that viewpoint...

That said, these do provide a good variety of alternative looks for the Era B station so players' maps don't end up looking like the same station has been cloned all across it.

These look a thousand time better than Urban Games default textures.

Many thanks!
