a thing i might end up doing would be a functionally replacing them with a modular armor system where you make the exoskeletons and armor plates separately, would help reducing costs too since you'd only need to replace the armor plates if exoskeleton doesn't get hit through

Fair enough, I agree that power armor is boring (useful but boring), but I also think that they're terminally sauceless and their distinct lack of sauce is brought into much sharper relief when compared to the very tasty textures of this mod

Thing is, I rather dislike how mind-numbingly simplistic their implementation is, if I were to touch them it'd be whole functionality rework.
