Zizo Rainfall Graph Sonar

Kuvaus
This is a visual rapresentation for both passive and active sonar readings, displayed on a graph where the x axis is the bearing angle to the sonar and the y axis is elapsed time.

This type of sonar is often used in submarines and require trained operators to read. If you want to easily understand how to read it I suggest you this video:
https://youtu.be/AqqaYs7LjlM?t=655

Features:
  • Active & Passive mode.
  • Active mode filters out passive readings.
  • Active mode displays the detection distance.
  • Active mode allows for setting the max distance the sonar ping should travel.

Installation:
This comes on an example vehicle, just copy the configuration on your boat to match the one on the example.
In the microprocessor properties you can change the sonar type you are going to use

Usage:
  • Button On/Off to toggle on and off the sonar.
  • Button A/P to switch between active and passive modes.
  • Buttons + and - to adjust the active sonar ping max distance.

Hello @Brooke7125, this system now works with physical buttons only.

Is there a way you could rout all the buttons on the screen to push buttons? Im making a ww2 era sub chaser, and am trying to keep the operation realistic

Hello LazyBoot, that happens very often with touchscreens, I'm aware of the issue but it depends on the game itself.
There is one way to force it to sync, but would require an horrible rework of the microprocessor into a spiderweb of logic connections.. not worth it.
If both players are there near the vehicle at spawn, it will be synced.

While I do like this, I did run into a minor issue with multiplayer sync at one point. While I saw it enabled and showing sonar data, another person on the same server would show it in the opposite state. So when I saw it on, he saw it as off. And when I saw it as off, he'd see it as on.

I added it to one vessel. It actually is really good. I just wished I had more things to track

same for me, i ended up watching the whole video lol. I got to see some sonar stuff when I was on a sub, but not much since I was in engineering.

The video you recommended to understand it was so interesting I watched the whole thing lol. This is great, but certainly too complicated for me to use haha

thanks for letting me know i will keep that in mind

hey walter cochran, yes from active sonar pings you can calculate the target distance pretty precisely. Hopefully I'll find the time to make the sonar map system soon.
