Dazz's Hyperdrive

Description
I don't like how hyperdrives work in Cosmoteer. Hyperium being a mineral makes me feel that it is a finite, unrenewable resource and makes me hasitate to expend it, but it is in fact too available to be worried about; also, it is just an annoyance that you must refill your ships with hyperium time by time, it is a repetitive, uninteresting task that I just want to skip.

This mod changes how hyperdrives work. Rather than needing hyperium as a fuel, it is now constructed with hyperium and it consumes no hyperium to do the hyper-jumps. Your crews refill it with batteries and it slowly converts the batteries into a new resource called Hyperium Energy, which is required for hyper-jumps. Hyperium Energy cannot exist outside of a hyperdrive. Assuming batteries supply is adequate, it takes around three minutes for an empty Small Hyperdrive to fully recharge itself.

This way, hyperdrives work more like what I am used to hear from science fictions: it requires energy and it needs time to recharge itself, instead of expending some unrenewable resource in the process.

Known Issues
Hyperdrives needing hyperium to be build makes them more expensive. This may pressure starting credits.

Supported Mods
Medium Hyperdrive
Medium Hyperdrive (TechTree)
Corvettes and Components (2x1 Hyperdrive)
Fighters and Components (1x1 Hyperdrive, and 1x1 reactor + hyperdrive)

Hyperdrives from mods not listed above are unlikely to work even in a manner they used to.

FAQ
Q: I am the author of ______ mod and despite being listed as compatible, my local copy of the mod isn't compatible with your mod.
A: Due to the current status of Cosmoteer modding, this issue cannot be resolved in my end. You either subscribe your own workshop item and enable it for your plays instead, or apply the patches to your local copy of the mod. The latter is discouraged for it crashes the game for users not using Dazz's Hyperdrive mod.

Can't edit my previous comment, so a follow up: the cost to build the small hyperdrive changed, but not the cost of the medium or large ones. I build large ships, so... yeah. Not sure why the changes were only applied to the smallest hyperdrive, but whatever. Might be a version/update thing.

this doesnt seem to be working and I'm not sure why. Hyperdrives still consume hyperium. Might this have something to do with me installing the mod after already having hyperdrives built and on my ship?

When I try to load in with this mod, as of now, it crashes the game.

when will you update the mod to current? i really like this mod as it makes me not feel like im pouring useful hyperium down the drain every single jump i do, and finite "go from here to there" minerals doesnt really sound like a fun thing to just go around wasting.

Thats overall what bugs me in cosmoteer. In scifi, people dont run around with batteries and put them in their machinery every 10 seconds. It is a reactor that fuels the whole ship with energy, and either their reactors are strong enough for all, or they are not. I wish there was a mod that just generates "output power" of different reactors and you would only need to look out for the required power of your ship, instead of needing 100 people that run around with batteries.

Should we expect an update of this mod? It was pretty much essential to me since it allowed me to actually USE hyperdrives in-system without fear of using up all the fuel and get stranded forever. I'll understand if there won't be an update.
