Streamline your survival experience with smarter refining and early-game production boosts. Gravel now yields ores, stone has refined mechanics, and small-grid benches speed up crafting with trade-offs. Adapt, optimize, and build efficiently!




  • Changed the Survival kit Gravel recipe to produce ore only.
  • Stone only produces gravel and some organics in the smelter and refiner.
  • Added production of some ingots at very low yield.
  • Added medical Components to Industrial overhauls Assembler's Bench.
  • Added two small grid blocks “Small Assembling Bench” and “Small Smelter” to speed up early game production. Both perform worse in terms of efficiency and power usage compared to the large grid equivalents.

Probably the most ideal solution (i.e. doing the IO way) would be to add a dedicated stone processor, that could be used to refine stone in all the ores, again same way as the survival kit does, just faster and less efficient.

Think of a 1x1 large-grid block "very" basic refinery that draws about 500 - 1000 kW and only refines stone into other ores.

Thanks I will update the names(good catch). We will think about balancing the speed and think about the refiners. But the main goal is to remove stone from anything past very early game.

so here's my suggestions after trying

- First, the Ingots blueprint of the Survival Kit is confusing: it should be renamed from "Ingots" to "Ores", because as it is now it makes you think you're actually producing ingots, while you actually need to go one step further and make actual ingots from the ores you get from this blueprint.

- I think the smelter and refinery should actually produce all the ores from the stone (then they could be refined - again - to actual ingots), but of course at a way lower yield than the Survival Kit. It's really slow and going around to get actual ores is not easy at all at the start, especially if you're not using the Reforged detectors.
